Tuscaloosa County Board of Education: Demolition of the Former Brookwood High School. Former Brookwood High School consists of an original, two story classroom building centered in the campus with a series of building additions. The original building is flanked by the existing Gym wing to the left and the existing Cafeteria/Library to the right. Each of these additions includes a portion which is two stories in height. Subsequent single story classroom additions extend north of the original building. The project focus is to demolish the older facilities, but leave four existing buildings which will become stand alone. Demolition includes complete removal of exterior envelope and interior construction as indicated. New metal panel clad exterior walls will installed to close off any openings created by the adjacent demolition. Foundations, concrete slab and underground piping in the area to be demolished shall be removed; site shall be graded to align with existing sidewalk.
