I love mandatory walks. It lets you know who your competition is.

I remember being on mandatory walk for demolition contractors and I was the only one that showed up. The entity decided to add a second mandatory walk to project, again I was the only one to show up. I got the job and made 40% profit.

I later found out that there were 4 other bidders whose bids were thrown out for not attending the walk. I would have finished 3rd had they gone to the walk.
