One of the young men from the Ramon demo family won the raffle. He sold tons of tickets and won it himself. He took the cash, so the bike got auctioned off, for about $17K or so, I believe, which was still far below its market price. I was with someone who was bidding but stopped around $16K.

I think the traffic was slightly lighter than last year. I'm going strictly by booth traffic. Made some real good contacts though and was able to visit with a lot of our customers. Potential customer came by about 3:40p on Tuesday. Will be giving him a quote for the first time. That is why I don't pack it in early...even if it is slow.

This years NDA convention was definately beneficial for us.

So compared to year's past, what's the attendance like?

I agree with you demoman - Get a keynote that is relevant to the industry. I really can't think of one keynote that was relevant in years.

Also the sessions, the only one I remember that was great was about the WTC clean-up and that was in 2002 (i think).

I didn't stay either. I had a very brief speaking segment immediately following breakfast. I then had work related items to get done prior to being out on the exhibit floor for the remainder of the day.

If you haven't already you may want to let the committee members know that you would prefer industry related speakers. They have been active this year approaching us about our thoughts on imporoving the convention. My guess is that they would be very interested in the members comments. The types of speakers you mentioned is similar to what they had at the Demolition Academy last fall in Chicago.

I didn't listen to General Speak was he any good? Every year there is no topical relevance to speakers. Get OSHA, EPA, Army Corp, DOE, etc not some accountant or General -

Yep, attendance is light. But we had a good day of contacts today with both current & prospective customers. I expect tomorrow to have lighter traffic than today but I think the show has been beneficial for us already & I'm looking forward to speaking with more people tomorrow.
