I agree with everyone else, contracts will never be iron clad.

I also know the AGC - The Associated General Contractors of America - Home has a pretty fair written contract for both parties.

Ditto on the AIA forms. That being said, if a contract can be written, it can be broken.

Iron clad? Good luck that, there's too many overpaid lawyers out there.

Seriously, try using the AIA (American Institute of Architects) format.

AIA Contract Documents

They have a wide variety of contracts/subcontracts.
