Just want to give all contractors who are removing septic tanks and drain fields a heads up... Be very aware of local and state laws on removing these... I say this because I worked for a county health dept. in Florida as an inspector and I know that my boss was big on proper septic tank abandonment. In the county I worked in and I believe the entire state of Florida, a tank and or field if removed must be sent to a properly licensed landfill where it is treated/decontaminated, however, the tank and field can be left in place and crushed but this will limit the area available for future system instalations. In this and other buisnesses fines are big and can be devestating so you must learn every law you can.

Not to hijack, but how do you like your Mitsu loader? I have seen them but haven't done anything with them.

Link Belt 2800 (43,000lb) and Sumitomo 2800 which is the same machine as a LInk Belt 2800 and it also weighs around (43,000lbs), Bobcat 743, Small Crawler/Loader (Mitsuibishi bs3f) and a D6 to dress up the land. Waste Management is going to be doing the hauling for us.

Hey we are waiting for the abatement to get done. which should be done in the next 2 weeks. We are figuring 1 1/2 weeks to strip everything thats worth anything and assuming we can tear down 8-10 trailers a day. A month to do everything from start to finish including dressing up the land.

Lately I have been doing a lot of trailers here in the Orlando area. I actually like doing them. I can get in, tear it down, load it and clean up in about 5-6 hours for a single wide, 60X12. Should be a nice job. Around here I get $6 per 100 lbs for the steel frames, last one I did got me $78. Multiply that by the 63 and there is a few nice lunches.

All these units I guess were just part of someones investment portfolio they were probably good rentals at one point, but not now. This place looks and probably is a haven for drug dealers, prositution and god knows what else.

It was sold like it was. This trailer park has been sitting vacant and run down for probably 15-20 years open to elements, etc... After the demolition is done new trailers are going to be brought on site. We are going to be tearing everything down and out and basically just root raking the whole area which is about 47 acres then his contractor is going to come in and set new tanks, utilities, etc....

what's going in it's place? a housing development or something. i'm surprised all the trailers were left behind because they are usually individually owned.

We are going to be tearing down a trailer park. There are 63 old and abused trailers ranging from 40-60 feet in length and about 10 feet wide and 8 old semi-truck trailers used for storage sheds and also removing all of the septic tanks and utilities. We are going to be stripping all of the axles, frames, siding, alum window frames, wiring, tubs, etc... and recycling it. Anyone ever done a trailer park before shed some advice on it for me. I think my only concern is actually leaving all the equipment on site and once all the recyables are stripped out all the crackheads in the area will have plenty for the taking so I'm thinking of taking the roll off office out and having one of the guys stay out their during the duration of the job.
