This was all the buzz in my meetings last week. The DOE has adopted the OSHA safety regulations/standards on it's sites around the country. In some cases they are actually more stringent than OSHA. Get this, the new fines are $70,000 per day per worker. They also eliminated the ability to get a variance if the costs do not justify the benefits of following safety regulations.
I am running for a 1:00 meeting now but I will post a link when I get out.
