Dewalt makes a nice demo hammer that will walk through those pipes.

At this time of year you shouldn't need anything but the hammer. Cast iron will break even in hot weather if you hit it hard enough. Messing about with liquid nitrogen poses a lot of hazards, not the least of which is the asphyxiation potential. Get a 20lb sledge and your biggest dude and whack away. If you find that it won't break, try it in the early AM. The cast will be cooler then.

Hi, anyone have any thoughts or input on using liquid nitrogen and a sledge for busting cast iron pipes. Normally I use cutoff saws, snap cutters and or tourches however this job has a large quantity of 6" and 8" diameter old pipes and tourches can not be used in the building and cutoff saws will not fit in most cut locations. Thanks!
