That is good, because typically, force majeure clauses cover natural disasters or other "Acts of God", war, or the failure of third parties.

Which I guess "Acts of God" good be construed that way.

We have a Force Majeure clause that covers extreme weather conditions. I will have to give a ^5 to our crew, they're a bunch of tough cookies and doing the best they can when they can.

Do you have any provisions in your contract for weather related delays, or are just just getting burned? No pun intended.

Great question rdz. I have seen several contracts with the rain and snow, but I haven't seen any with the heat.

80* at 5 am in the morning? Holy cow, plus the humidity you guys have there, no thanks.

Anybody else adjusting again or still adjusting their work?

Yea, I would say it would be easier just to send the guys home, as soon as they started back to its break time again.

Up here in the Northwest we have never really had that big of a problem, although it has happened in the past on a couple of projects.

Tell me about it! I grew up working in scrap yards and when it got hot, we drank more water!

It does remind me of working at Fort Bragg during August, they have a heat danger flag that will go up if the heat index reaches a certain point, and then outdor activities are supossed to be suspended. I used to se the flag go up but the drill seargents would still be running the new recruits in full gear long after the flag. Those guys looked like they were gonna die.

I am allowing more frequent breaks and urging my guys to keep hydrated. I had one guy fall out a few years ago and I don't want to see it happen again.
