Yeah, I've had the "composite cleanup crew" shoved down my throat one too many times and still I end up doing most of the jobsite cleanup with my crews (at least while we're on site). I did return to a job after six months to begin the second phase of demo, and the project manager told me he was glad to see me back cause his site would be cleaner. Go figure.

We had a Contractor try to back charge us for cleaning the site with his forces. He said he was charging everyone an equal amount. He argued he had no choice but forgot he had paid us to do all the clean-up on-site and had used our cans.

It's not the hugest thing, but its the one I see most often when working on jobs with other trades, and that is housekeeping. If i've heard it once i'v heard it a thousand times "Your crews are leaving trash and junk all over the site".I don't know about you guys but I run my sites like an OR. I don't like to have crap all over the place, its dangerous and inefficient, but I watch a lot of construction contractors leave a job site in worse shape than when they came in and they throw their trash in my scrap cans. I will have my crews police their areas daily so that with exception of the structure we're working on, you wouldn't know we were there.

James made a great comment that we demo guys get blamed for a lot of things.

What kind of things have you been blamed for in your demolition or heavy equipment work experiences, and how did you handle it?
