Hi Kurt,
First off we got word today that the Milton-Madison Bridge has been delayed until next Monday morning (July 22nd)
The Genesee Towers is almost a wait and see. There is talk of sometime in late August or September, there have been some financial and grant issues that seemed to finally be settled. As far as we know they are still getting demolition
General dates are known, but several factors can come into place, project delays, weather delays, and making sure that plans with the city are in place (traffic plans, police, fire, road crews, etc.) Another one of the reasons is for security purposes.
We try and stay on top of what
Sorry for the delay Kurt! We have been on vacation.
One of the things is that a lot of implosions aren't announced until a few days before it happens. Sometimes even us in the loop find out at the last minute or if we have the info, we can't release it to the public until we get clearance.
The next bridge implosion that I know of is the Milton-Madison Bridge, US 421 over the Ohio River between Milton, Ky. and Madison, Ind. , that will happen on the 17th of July. There will be 3 separate blast bringing down the bridge, this is the first of the three.
There was the Gage Towers at Minnesota State University that happened last month. Genesee Towers in Flint Michigan is supposed to happen sometime this year, but there has been no official date set yet or if it's even going to happen at all.
