Some of you guys must have way too much time on your hands. It's like watching kids going back and forth.

I am pretty sure this is my last post. This forum has turned into something that it shouldn't be. When someone "claims" someone died, that is very serious and I don't take it likely. I am not going into detail and go back and forth with someone I don't even know. I will state this for the last time, A crane did not tip over on a barge during the demo of the Cooper River Bridges. It's been real ,,,,,,,,,,,,argue among yourselves!!!!!!!!!!!
Be safe,

I am just responding to the statement about checking my facts and that certain things didn't happen.

I have nothing against Testa, what I have a problem with is someone questioning or implying that I was lying, it would have ended there. Instead he said it didn't so I had to provide a little proof of who was telling the truth and who wasn't.

If I were so inclined crane incidents at a certain shipyard and the FBI would have been included in the above.

As far as glass houses, our company spends countless hours and money on safety training, bonuses, etc trying to keep us from having OSHA incidents. Just this year we have been on 4-VPP OSHA sites. The only way that is possible is to not have 1 single OSHA violation in the last 5 years. I am also not out there doing promotion telling everyone how big and bad we are, touting videos, etc.

And yes Demco has Yankee stadium. As I said before there was no-way that a boston contractor was going to have any part in the House that Ruth Built.

Wolf - No kidding!

Isn't there a saying about "glass houses?"

I too have heard it's DEMCO's job.

Or was it this OSHA incident in SC? Are you sure you were there? Because believe me I can keep posting the issues that Testa has had in MA, SC, etc, etc when you want to call in what I do and don't know.

I worked on that project and a crane never even had an accident down there.Get your facts straight before you make a statement like that, please.

Engineer, good answer, I am a superitendant with Testa Corp and you have only hit the tip of the IceBurg.I have know idea who Connie is, and with her attitude don't really care. I am writing about Yankee Stadium.
I read todays New York Daily News March24. An article stated why the contract and permits have not yet been finalized, A spokes person for the City office of Capital Project Development stated, "Contractor solicitation cannot begin too far in advance of an estimated work start date because contractors don't hold prices indefinitely and you run the risk of having to rebid the contract". He further stated,"the process began,"well before the team moved out".
Having read this it tells me, the bids are still in review.

Connie28 who told you testa got run out of boston you have no clue what your talkin about, work dried up and to stay as big as they are they had to look else where.. The jobs in NYC are peanuts compared to the 60 million dollar bridge demo in Charleston SC and the Big Dig... Unbuilding (demolition) of the Grace and Pearman Bridges in Charleston (the old Cooper River Bridges) check out that link bridge in SC

Couldn't find anything on the internet confirming or denying Demco has the job. Curious to know what the final resolution is.

I did, however, come across this neat old photo of the Ebbetts Field demolition. Guess this is about 1960 or so--almost 50 years ago. They decorated the wrecking ball like a baseball, and Roy Campanella is watching from a wheelchair, almost in tears, in one old film.

Yeah, would love to know who actually has the contract to demo Yankee Stadium, if it has been decided. Can anyone clarify for sure?

I can confirm that Spiritas has bonding problems because when they were the low bidder at Shea they tried to do a joint venture with us to provide the bond.

The only problem we had is that if we were bonding and doing 1/2 the work we wanted fair compensation and they wanted a 50/50 deal.

Also Mr Spirtas didn't want to personally put anything on the line which was a requirement from our bonding company. They were involved with AT Milestone Environmental which does interior demolition and abatement in the tri-state area. They did a $760,000 abatement for us in GA but basically subbed the entire project to a MBE.
