A worker was injured after a scaffold collapsed on Manhattan's Upper East Side while removing asbestos.
Fire officials say workers were removing asbestos from a building on East 97th Street when it came down.
The worker was taken to a local hospital, possibly with a broken leg.
It's not clear whether he fell off the scaffold or was hit by debris as it was crashing down.
Officials say residents have nothing to worry about.
"The asbestos, they call it friable when it's in a dust-like stage. That's when it's most dangerous. Right now there is no friable asbestos at the scene. It's all contained in the structure itself," said New York City Fire Department Chief Anthony Devita.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
