Chattanooga police say a wall collapse killed a man demolishing a downtown building.

Boyce Holmes of Joint Construction told investigators that he and Jesse Banks, 56, were tearing down the building. Boyce said Banks had been driving a Bobcat pulling down interior walls inside the building and had gotten off of the machine to pick up scrap metal. Boyce then got on the Bobcat and was pushing debris out of the building. Banks was beside a free-standing brick wall when it collapsed on top of him. Boyce was able to pull the victim from beneath the brick and he was rushed to the hospital. However he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
