
A township in Kalamazoo, Michigan has been cited by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) over the demolition of property and burning of its debris without it being properly checked for asbestos beforehand.
As reported by the Kalamazoo Gazette, officials of the township sent a letter mid-June claiming that they were unaware that they were not allowed to proceed with the burning of the debris after the demolition.
