Fourteen flood-damaged houses in Kirkwood, NY should be demolished by the end of next week, according to Kirkwood Supervisor Gordon Kniffen.
The first two flood-damaged houses were demolished Monday, Kniffen said. Demolitions will continue at the rate of at least one a day through the end of next week. Gorick Construction Co. of Binghamton is doing the work for $102,200.
All 14 houses were severely damaged during the 2006 flooding and will be torn down as part of a federal buyout program.
