Cancel my last entry. I'm in Philly under direct orders from the
man who's name is on the side of the the demolition machines that you see in 'most' of my pictures and videos.

Video and photos to follow.

Bummer. Was looking forward to seeing your documentation of the stack coming down. Are you going to film the Testa excavators hitting the building once the stack is down? That should be pretty cool too.

Implosion is happening 7:30 AM this Sunday the 15th by CDI.
The stack is 420 feet tall .
The main building will be brought down via traditional demolition by Testa Corp.
I will be shooting the event on Sunday along with demo of the main building.

Looks like I won't be attending the events on Sunday. Since CDI does their own photography and filming executives at Testa Corp. felt that there was no reason to send me to Philly.

So, needless to say, you won't be seeing any photos or a video from me on the blast.

Thanks for the update tjd!

As far as I know it's the stack. I would assume traditional demo on the building. Maybe someone can confirm this.

The Penn Coach Yard chimney, a Drexel landmark located next to 30th Street Station at the Pennsylvania Railroad Steam Plant, will be demolished Sunday Nov. 8, at 7:30 a.m. by Controlled Demolition, Inc., after 70 years of existence.

CDI will implode the chimney, colloquially called "The Shaft" and now owned by Amtrak, using dynamite and will let it fall into a narrow gap between the SEPTA tracks and the CSX high-line viaduct. Traffic through SEPTA and Amtrak, as well as local streets and the Schuylkill Expressway, will be temporarily stopped for the implosion.
