the owner might be trying to hold out for more money. it said in the artical that he bought it out from under Campell Soup "Campell Soup is investing $90 million to upgrade its world headquarters, which is located directly behind the Sears Building. City, county, state and the Delaware River Port Authority are contributing $23.5 million to upgrade road and utilities in a 110-acre swath of land.
Campbell Soup had hoped to buy and demolish the building, but was thwarted by the last-minute sale to Zaken. At first, Campbell agreed to work around the building with the expectation that it would be restored. When nothing was done, it offered Zaken $3.025 million. When Zaken refused, Campbell asked the city to take the building through eminent domain."
Something seems wrong here.

Amazing that they would go against the owner's wishes to preserve the building. Isn't that a misuse of government power? Abuse of emminent domain to help a private enterprise--Campbell Soup. On the other hand, Camden is in such bad shape and Campbell Soup would probably run to the suburbs, or a lower tax state than Jersey, if they didn't get to knock down this POS. Interesting dliema. What do you think?
