[FONT=Verdana]Over the past 5 1/2 years, the rock and roll house in Encinitas, outside of San Diego CA has attracted a lot of attention.
Folks drop by all the time to either gaze, gasp or grin at Richard Margolin's garish back alley blast to our musical past.
"It's unique and special," he said. "It's inspired and brought a lot of joy to a lot of people and it doesn't cost them anything. I've had artists from all over Europe give me positive validation for the art work."
The early blues legends, the founding fathers of rhythm and blues, along with the classic cosmic rockers have all found a place of honor here.
"I've tried to make every inch interesting and beautiful," Richard said.
Despite the hard work, this 53-year-old tree trimmer knows not everyone appreciates his efforts.
"I tell people you have to be either rich or stupid to do something like this and I'm obviously the latter," he said.
Rock and roll will never die, but it can be demolished. This rock and roll house that Richard rents is scheduled to be torn down to make way for a new condo project.
