Demolition will begin soon on another piece of Remington Arms Co. history in the city of Bridgeport, CT.
Six low-level buildings in the complex now known as RemGrit, are in the process of being remediated and prepared for demolition. Taking down the larger factory buildings along the property's periphery, on the other hand, may be years away.
Demolition of the interior buildings was ordered by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Bridgeport one year ago in response to the city's foreclosure action against the property, which was halted when RemGrit filed for bankruptcy.
