[FONT=Verdana]The Plattsburgh Airbase Redevelopment Corp. in NY figures it has about $7 million in demolition, construction and abatement work to perform during the next two years.
Speaking at the PARC Board of Directors meeting, Chief Operating Officer Bruce Steadman said plans call for all PARC work to be completed sometime between December 2007 and June 2008, although that remains a moving target date, depending on when the Air Force can transfer properties and when tenants close on sites.
"We hope to be done within the next couple years," Steadman said.
PARCELS LEFT
He said PARC officials met with members of the Clinton County Board of Realtors on April 25. Visitors were provided with maps and data packets showing the remaining lands for sale at PARC.
Steadman said about 22 or 23 parcels remain from an original 120 to 125.
"We thought it was a good time to show the realtors what's for sale and that there aren't any perceived impediments to selling them," Steadman said.
Of 5,000 acres, he said, 1,500 were used for easements and rights-of-way and 1,700 are on the flight line, now controlled by Clinton County.
Of the remaining original 1,800 acres, only about 200 are still available, he said.
Chief Financial Officer Marc Poirier said it was important to note PARC aims to sell parcels to projects geared toward job creation, not those interested in buying property for future speculation.
Poirier gave the financial report. He said PARC expects to close on many property sales within the next 30 to 60 days. The largest would be Multina, which is expected to close between May 31 and June 2, he said.
Steadman said closings allow PARC to funnel money back into its construction and demolition projects.
Poirier said PARC has scheduled meetings with auditors over the next few months as it prepares for the audit of its current fiscal year, which ends June 30. Everything looks good as that process nears, he said.
SUBDIVISION
Bob Davis delivered the Construction and Environmental report. He said the Plattsburgh Town Planning Board conditionally approved preliminary plans for PARC's Phase 7 subdivision, which would create six lots
