The security fence is up and the demolition of the old Piqua Memorial Medical Center in Piqua, OH is slated to be destroyed, despite efforts to give the facility new life after many years of being a hospital.
The building has not been an active hospital for 10 years. After numerous attempts to turn the building into a useful facility, it will be demolished.
The hospital was closed with the Upper Valley Medical Center, located between Piqua and Troy, opened in 1998.
Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy closed at the same time, but the building was transformed into the Stouder Center, which is houses a number of businesses and programs. One of the programs offered is the nursing school offered by the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School in Piqua, plus apartments.
