[FONT=Verdana]A backhoe and its operator fell when part of an unused bridge that was being demolished in central Kentucky collapsed yesterday.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]No one was hurt in the incident.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Department of Highways spokeswoman Andrea Clifford says the department was demolishing the old bridge and plans to replace it by next month.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]The bridge at U.S. 60 crosses Floyds Fork just east of Louisville, near Valhalla Golf Club.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]The highway will have four lanes when the replacement bridge opens. The bridge being used now has two lanes.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]According the department's plans, the bridge replacement is expected to cost $5 million[/FONT]
