So let me get this straight. If I break the rules and laws, and I have very few assets, my fine will be lower? :dunno:
Looks like something borrowed from Germany.
I seen a TV show about the Autobahn, and thay said if you get a ticket for a traffic violation, you'll be fined according to how rich your are. Simply put, the wealthier you are, the bigger the fine.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency announced that it has imposed a $4,000 fine on a Cleveland company in connection with the demolition of the abandoned NIBCO Foundry building, 1800 McCall St. The building is part of Dayton's WestView redevelopment brownfield project.
The company, Alpha-Omega Chemical Company, a subcontractor of Titan Wrecking & Environmental, told the city and the Regional Air Pollution Control Authority that all the asbestos was removed. However, a check by RAPCA found there was still asbestos in the building before demolition.
Alpha-Omega then returned and removed the asbestos before the building was torn down.
OEPA said the fine could have been higher but remained low because Alpha-Omega had few assets.
