[SIZE=2]The dismantling of a former lead smelter in Helena is expected to continue this summer and the plant's four smokestacks are expected to be toppled later this year.
Thirteen facilities at the lead smelter are scheduled for demolition. Among them are smokestacks standing 200 feet, 400 feet and 425 feet high.
Project manager Iver Johnson says the stacks at the former Asarco smelter were supposed to come down last year but a late start delayed that part of the demolition.
The smokestacks are part of the skyline above east Helena. A contract calls for demolition work to begin in July and wrap up by November.
