Man Survives Demolition Accident

[FONT=Verdana]A man covered in rubble was dug out by co-workers Tuesday in an accident at the Adam's Mark demolition site in Philidaphia. [/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]William Milyo Sr., 61, of Pottstown, Pa., was operating a backhoe when he was buried under a pile of rubble from the partially demolished hotel. [/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]His co-workers starting digging Milyo out by hand until rescue crews arrived, and then rescuers used chain saws to get to him.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]"He was covered in rubble. The clamp of the backhoe that he was operating was crumpled. He was trapped inside. Our people had to use extricating tools to get him out. As I said, he was conscious during the entire event," said Lt. Diane Mercer of the Philadelphia Police Department.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Mercer said the incident appeared to be an accident. [/FONT]
