[FONT=Verdana]A man has died after he was crushed by heavy machinery at a demolition company near Glasgow.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]The 68-year-old was working at Whiteinch Demolition in Bishopbriggs, when a piece of machinery fell on him.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Emergency services were called out, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Investigators from the Health and Safety Executive have begun examining the area.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]An HSE spokesman said: "We are aware of the fatality and are investigating the circumstances surrounding it.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]"We will prepare a report for the procurator fiscal when our investigation is complete."[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]The site, on Balmuildy Road, specializes in recycling building materials, including timber and steel for re-use in the construction industry.[/FONT]
