Demolition crews used nearly 200 pounds of explosives to bring down the Lowry Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis. The bridge had stood since 1905 but was declared unsafe last year. It had connected north Minneapolis with northeast Minneapolis over the Mississippi River. Construction on a replacement is due to begin this fall.
