The school district soon will advertise for bids for the demolition of the former LaBrae High School building in Warren, Ohio. The Board of Education approved the remediation and demolition documents for the building during a special meeting Friday. Board president Larry Sanderson said that once the bids come in, the district will be able to formulate a timeline for destruction of the building.
In October, the district sold the high school, along with Leavitt and Vaughn elementaries, as part of its construction project that included a new grades 3 to 12 building that opened this year. The township purchased the high school property for $175,000 with the understanding it would be torn down by the district.
