The iconic Kodak Tower in Rochester, NY is getting a major repair job.
Three years of work on the 19-story headquarters for Eastman Kodak Co. will begin this summer. The company said a survey of the building by an architectural firm last year found substantial deterioration and cracks in parts of the masonry.
Kodak spokesman Christopher Veronda says the building is structurally sound but repairs are needed for safety.
Kodak Tower was built in two stages, with 16 floors going up in 1913. Three more stories and a cupola were added in 1930.
