It was interesting having 2 blasting companies on the same site. I've known Eric for over 15 years, and it was a pleasure to meet his wife Lisa and his son, Eric.

Competitors, or not, all very nice people. I'm sure there are some on this forum who think I'm saying this for other reasons, but I'm not. To think one cannot have friends, who are also competitors, is petty.

Kodak decided to shoot one day apart for those very reasons. Additionally, the structures are about 1/4 mile apart and nearly everything in between them is scheduled for demolition.

It's like a mini demolition convention there. Sabre, Bianchi, Testa and Ontario are all working now.

As of today, Building 9 is scheduled for June 30th and Building 23 for July 1st.

Eastman Kodak has informed people living near its complex in Rochester that it plans to implode Building 23, most likely during the first weekend in July.

Crews have been working for months to remove asbestos and other hazardous materials from the eight-story building and are preparing it for the implosion. Kodak officials say the earliest sections of the building are nearly 90 years old, while the newest sections date back to 1949.

Kodak has demolished 30 buildings and plans to take down 16 more by the end of this year, as part of its transformation to digital photography products. Company officials say most of those empty areas will become landscaped green space.
