The machine is booms up to 136' so the height is there. Tool capacity is 5700 and the LXP has a pretty good appetite in that size class. We build machines for much, much heavier tools but you sacrifice the height (or you need a bigger carrier). The pic is a little deceptive from this angle. The stick on that machine is over 35 feet long so the setback is pretty good. Also, that boom squirts out another 18 feet (it is fully retracted in this pic). That said you always have to be careful with an unstable structure. The machine has the heaviest guarding package we make and 1.5in polycarbonate demo glass. I wish these guys the best in getting it to the ground safely.

maybe a little short reach, if the structure is unstable i mean, cf. safety distance.

I don't know about that. It looks like it is doing a pretty good job wrecking the building and sometimes you gotta work with what you got.

Who is the contractor on the job?

The machine performing the majority of the work will be a Cat 365CL with a Jewell 136' single stage telescoping boom and LXP 200 shear/cracker attachment. Provided on a few days notice by Kuhn Equipment of Summerville, NC.

One will remember that the 2000 pounds of explosives used at the time of the attempt at demolition by implosion had not succeeded on August 29, to throw by ground the industrial building high of 80 meters.

The specialists British Company EDS worked since this time to determine the best possible solution to supplement the work of demolition started this day.
