Can we say way under?

Demolition of Albertville, AL High School's Aggie Stadium could begin by the end of the month, Superintendent Ric Ayer said.

The city Board of Education at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night accepted the low bid of $3,411.67 as submitted by C.A. Services of Oxford. Twelve bids were received.

Following the meeting, Ayer said he expects contracts to be signed by the middle of next week, with demolition expected to start almost immediately and be completed in 60 days.

Ayer was pleased with the cost of the job, saying he expected it to run between $50,000 and $100,000.

"There's a lot of aluminum and metal," he said of the stands that will be taken out, with C.A. Services able to recoup much of the cost through the scrap metal.
