One of the nation’s largest waste disposal and recycling companies announced this week it is acquiring Auburn’s Glacier Recycle.
Waste Management Inc., which is buying Glacier, is the largest recycler in North America and one of the nation’s largest trash haulers and landfill operators.
The three-year-old Glacier specializes in recycling wood and construction debris to supply materials for pulp and paper production, steam and power generation and construction.
The acquisition of Glacier will enhance Waste Management’s construction debris recycling activities in the Pacific Northwest, said Dean Kattler, Waste Management’s vice president for the Pacific Northwest.
