this is my little rant. English Station Power plant job in New Haven has been shut down again. The plant that has been closed since 96 has been undergoing interior demo. gutting for the last few months. this the second time that work has started. it was stopped by legal action last spring from the preservationist who claim the building is to pretty to wreck. well in the actions from them demo on the inside was allowed to resume, but the building demo was placed on a 90 day hold to see if it could be listed as historical. that 90 day time line ends on tues, and it looks like it will not be listed.
well now the same people are claiming that the skilled and trained demo workers are at risk due to PCBs and ACM in the building and talked a judge into stopping the job. this is just a back handed action by the same people that think they can make demands on a private land owner to keep a building he does not and can never find a real use for.
yes it is a nice looking place, take a picture, then hit the plunger!
