That's the sentiment of the community a week after the owner of the Big Dipper roller coaster announced he'll demolish it.
The coaster still stands on land owned by Cedar Fair, where the former Geauga Lake, OH amusement park operated until 2007.
The owner of the coaster bought it through representative Tom Woosnam of APEX Western Machinery of Akron two years ago when Cedar Fair auctioned off most of the park's contents.
Woosnam cast the only bid of $5,000, but said the owner paid much more than that. The owner tried to sell it on eBay earlier this month, but was unsuccessful.
According to Woosnam, as of last week the owner hasn't informed him when the coaster will be demolished.
But it doesn't appear the ride has an immediate date with coaster heaven. According to Bert Mechenbier, air pollution control supervisor for the Lake County General Health District, the agency hasn't received a completed notice of a demolition date.
Before the ride is demolished, the owner must get it inspected for asbestos and then submit a completed Ohio Environmental Protection Agency form to the county that confirms the inspection and whether asbestos was found.
