Haiti's earthquake destroyed 70% of buildings: report - International Business Times -
This is an incredible human tragedy has captured the attention of the world, to which there is no real quick fix.
Seeing the press photos of the dead and dying littering the streets, the stories of survival and rescue brings back many vivid images of our own 9-11 disaster.
There is only so much shovels and digging by hand can do among collapsed concrete structures and rebar.
Time to find survivors has almost run out as we approach day 5 since the 7.0 Earthquake struck.
The only thing missing is the heavy equipment to help move concrete and dig their way in on a massive scale.
While the demolition economy here in the states has come to a standstill an opportunity for us to work and help others is available, as tragic as it is.
In addition to the massive destruction of buildings, the port took a heavy hit as well. Structural Damage to Port
I for one would like to be there to document this undertaking. If there is anything I can do to help in anyway. Please let me know.
