Demolition work on the former Deutsche Bank building was cleared to start again Thursday, as the Department of Buildings lifted the stop work order at 130 Liberty Street.
Work was halted earlier this month after a steel pipe fell 35 stories and smashed through an adjacent firehouse.
The department approved a series of regulations designed to ensure greater safety, including greater oversight and the installation of more coverings to protect the streets below.
In addition, Greenwich Street between Liberty and Albany Streets, and Albany Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets will be closed to pedestrians while work is under way.
