always sad to hear things like this. we've done lots of highway bridge work over the last 7 years, so far no one has gotten hurt. we worked on the Kingery expressway, and the Dan Ryan in chicago, also many other area expressways. i think the fact that our operators, laborers and drivers have all worked together for so long helps us work safely.
The remainder of the bridge was blasted this morning. It is unclear wheter the bridge was originally supposed to be blasted or whether it was done to expedite the project
[FONT=Verdana]Kansas City[/FONT][FONT=Verdana] police have identified the man killed when an overpass collapsed Saturday in the Grandview Triangle as Jason Dougan, 32, of Richmond, Mo.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Dougan worked for APAC-Kansas Inc., the company that had been doing demolition work on the old overpass since April, company spokeswoman Deborah Galloway said Monday.[/FONT]
