Demolition is underway on the ruins of a building in downtown Gatesville, TX that collapsed during a heavy rainstorm last July, damaging two adjacent buildings.

The City of Gatesville said it’s tired of waiting for the owner to do something about the dangerous crumbling walls of the historic building, so the building has been condemned.

The owner will be billed for the cost of the demolition.

Four people were inside the antique store at the time, but they heard a rumble and were able to escape without injury.
