Demolition of hangars and other Evergreen Airport in structures is expected to commence next month to make way for a $215 million eastside development with shops, offices, a hotel and housing.
ELD Development LLC, plans to begin construction this summer on the 59-acre property, to be called The Village at Evergreen.
The group has hired Perkowitz and Ruth Architectural Design, which has participated in Bridgeport Village in Tualatin, Cascade Station in Portland and Nyberg Woods in Tualatin.
Investors include Tom Kemper, Ronald Skov and Bruce Wood.
Kemper partnered with the Vancouver Housing Authority and the city in developing the Esther Short Commons apartment building across from Esther Short Park.
Wood is a former manager for Opus Northwest who was with the company when it began talks with the family of deceased airport owner Wally Olson.
Opus lost its option on the property last July.
