.
This is why they invented High Reach demolition excavators.

Sorry to say, but:
This guy and the other people involved in this demolitionproject are what we call in Europe: The worst example for the industry; The ones trying to get killed , The ones with absolutely no brains.

What were they thinking...!!! Amateurs...!!!

How stupid could the forman or superintendant be to expose somthing that tall with that small of an excavator and no escape route..I would never [put any of my men in such a situation like that..Obviously there was lack of experience or common sense on that job...

WOW! He is lucky indeed, that would have been worse if the wall had moved faster.

A wall collapsed on a construction worker Friday during the demolition of an apartment complex near the Crossroads Mall in Salt Lake City. It happened just around 5 p.m., and had rescue teams scrambling.

The worker was in a track-hoe taking down a section at a time of what used to be the ZCMI Mall. The track-hoe operator reached up to grab another section of the building to pull it down, when suddenly it gave way. Nearby a man who was filming the demolition caught the whole thing on his home video camera.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene and began digging. Miraculously the guy was ok, protected by the steel frame of his cab. He walked away with just a cut on his head and a little shaken up.

This ends the second week of demolition on the six-story office building. Crews are taking down the mall to make way for the new multi-million dollar City Creek Center funded by the LDS Church.

After watching the video, He is so lucky to be alive!
