Is it clear who the main Demolition contractors are on the site yet? I think at the moment things are all on target but it'll only take a small knock at the start of this project project for it to quickly fall behind!

I hope it works out. The demo done for Olympics has been an economic disaster in many cities over the years---many cities still suffering with big bills, Beijing is creating havoc and destroying its historic heart in the process. LA never recovered either. Hope it works out.

Bulldozers have begun tearing down buildings to make way for the 2012 Olympic Park in east London.

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) took control of the land from the London Development Agency on Thursday.

In three years 208 businesses, 425 residents, 35 traveller families, and 64 allotment holders have relocated.

The 500-acre site will include a main stadium, aquatics center, velodrome, three sports arenas, a hockey center and accommodation for competitors.

Situated near to the proposed Olympic transport hub in Stratford, the Park will allow easy access to the O2, in Greenwich, and the ExCel center in Docklands, where other events will be held.
