Officials say that is because of concerns over the underground utilities near the coliseum.
Despite concerns over the utilities that are threatening to cancel the demolition, the city says, they are still working to take the building down next month.
Engineers for the project say before the blast caps can be lit, parts of the coliseum need to be dismantled before the implosion. An area of the parking garage that hangs over the street needs to be taken down carefully.
The problem is, those underground cables and wire are encased in concrete. That concrete could crack when a huge parking garage level comes down on top of it. That could leave more than 2000 homes without power.
Some officials say nothing has changed, and the demolition will happen next month.
