Demolition is expected to begin today on the Greyhound bus station on Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth, TX.
The 6,621-square-foot building is being razed to make room for an 11-story parking structure to serve future tenants of the nearby Transport Life office building, on the northwest corner of Seventh and Main streets.
The owners of the 24-story office building bought the bus station and adjacent parking lot in May.
The total land area is .632 acre, according to deed records.
It was sold by the Joseph Akiba Kenig Trust and the Miriam Ruth Kenig Trust.
The Greyhound station has moved to the Intermodal Center at 10th and Jones streets.
Linda Votow, a partner in the ownership, said that designs for the parking structure are being reviewed, but that the architecture will be similar to the Transport Life building's in order to tie the properties together.
The partnership has owned the Transport Life building since 2003 and had planned to turn it into apartments.
In May, it announced that it would renovate the building for offices.
