[FONT=Verdana]In Pocatello ID wrecking crews and their heavy machinery took the first bite out of the hospital's east campus building shortly after 9 a.m. The building had already been isolated from the rest of the east wing and stripped of power connections. Before the heavy hitters came in, crews even had to haul away small amounts of asbestos.

It was all part of a project that will eventually mean better health care for the region, and it is good for Pocatello. Brennan will eventually employ about 500 construction workers on the project.

This is phase one of six. It will take about 18 months to complete this phase, and it will be 8 to 10 years before all six phases are finished.
