[FONT=Verdana]Demolition will continue this week at the corner of North Palm Canyon Drive and Alejo Road to make way for a new mixed-use project.

Demolition began last week. The first building to be torn down was the former Hair of the Dog bar and restaurant, a small building next to Edgardo's Veracruz Mexican food restaurant. Most recently, that building housed Now restaurant.

After that, demolition began on the Monte Vista Hotel.

Developer Lawrence Rael of Orange County plans to build 135 condos and 25,000 square feet of retail space on the approximately 4 acre site.[/FONT][FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
