The first step in a makeover at Edinboro Univeristy is now underway.

This week demolition crews started the work to tear down Shaffer Hall. The demolition work is the first step in Edinboro's plans to make way for new campus dormitories.

Once Shaffer hall is completely cleared from the land, work will begin on new suite style dorms.

School officials are excited to see the work finally get underway.

The demolition of Shaffer hall should wrap up in December, and the new construction could begin as early as January.
