The start of Demolition began early January with the intital Abatement of 2 out the 20 other units to be demolished in the comming year of 2008/2009 will end with the Demolition of what was once the largest building in the world at one time, the building know to most as the Kirkbride Building will be the last structure to come down and along with the rest will make way for new lush Green Park space and Athletic fields for the community to enjoy.

This timely project comes with the new addition of a brand new facility just across the street from the original campus that dates back in the 1800's but with time and new improved methods as well as technology has turned this once glorious state of the art Hospital into a relic that will soon fade to black as crews destroy the old facility one by one, this period of demolition will raze the remaining abandoned structures that were left after crews demolished the buildings on the other side that were destroyed to make way for the new facility that stands where they once stood.

Construction of the new Park Space will commence once the structures are removed and there foundations lifted then the grading, landscaping and finish work can begin, in addition to what was already mentioned to occupy the space will include a hockey rink.

I have taken it apon myself to document this project and I take pictures that will be available for all members to see.... for those of you fortunate to live close enough you may drive by and take a look if you choose all that is requested is that you remain aware of the laws and regualtions regarding tresspassing.
