This is kind of an interesting project. It is two huge cooling towers that are located at the site of a former experimental power station. The power station was demolished years ago and the owner left the towers standing because they said that the vibration produced from the demolition would damage the structural integrity of the M1 Motorway which runs alongside the site. The towers were dubbed the "Salt and Pepper Shakers" by the locals.
Fast forward a couple of years. Channel 4 held a contest to turn structures around the country into works of art. The "Salt and Pepper Shakers " were selected. Some artist wanted to turn them into large vases and have a boys choir hold a recital inside due to the "unique" acoustical qualities of the towers.

Now, the Owners don't think the damage to the Motorway from the demolition will be all that bad...... :D
