Piece by piece Cobb Field in downtown Billings, MT is coming down and on Monday crews began to tear out bleachers and stadium seating from the old ball park.
It's the first stage of the demolition and several of the seats will be reused for the new Cobb Field while the remainder will be donated to various local organizations. Meanwhile Cobb Field's lights and infield sod will be donated to area Little League and Legion baseball teams.
As far as construction on the new stadium goes the folks with Langlas and Associates Inc. say they're right on target. Magnum Contractors out of Boise Idaho will begin to tear down Cobb Field's outer walls starting next Monday.
The demolition is making way for the new $12.5 million ballpark which is slated to be completed next July.
